Digital Tech

The unnoticeable part of video and photography production that often goes without credit is the job of the digital technician, or digital imaging technician.  This job is essential to a successful production ensuring that the video or stills are captured without errors, and that the quality of the files is up to the standards set for the job.  The tech provides the cinematographer, still or video photographer with the capability of visualizing and digitally manipulating the image to achieve his or her vision while in the set.  It is also part of the job to facilitate the making of edits and corrections before even sending the files to post-production.  Finally its the job of the tech to make sure that all files are safely backed up and are passed on to post-production with all the necessary data to maintain the photographer’s vision.

Mauricio Soto has spend a great part of past 7 years working as a digital tech in many photo shoots in studio and location.  Before that Mauricio worked as a video engineer /video playback / video assist in feature films, most specifically facilitating and providing monitors to the director and crew.  Mauricio is accustomed to working with art directors, photo editors, photographers, directors and producers helping them achieve their creative visions.
